Common image-to-Sheets jobs

  • Screenshot tables and online reports
  • Printed price lists and catalogs
  • Inventory counts and inspection forms
  • Schedules, rosters, and sign-in sheets
  • Receipts and invoice line items

How image table extraction works

The OCR engine recognizes text and analyzes where values appear on the page. When it detects a table, it maps content into rows and columns that can be copied or downloaded for Google Sheets.

Prepare the image

  • Crop to the relevant table or list.
  • Keep the camera parallel to the page.
  • Use sharp focus and even lighting.
  • Avoid tiny screenshots and heavy compression.
  • Review merged headers and wrapped descriptions after extraction.

For multi-page PDFs, follow the PDF to Google Sheets tutorial. For financial documents, see invoice OCR and receipt OCR.
